Description
The Tomei Expreme Ti exhaust is a full titanium exhaust system designed for the FK8 Civic Type R. Each system comes with all the components necessary for full installation including nuts and bolts. Bolt Smooth Paste is also included to help prevent the bolts becoming seized under high-temperatures.
Tomei source their own raw-materials, allowing for a significantly improved quality whilst maintaining lower prices. Having complete control over raw materials and manufacturing process’ allows Tomei to produce high quality products at an affordable price.
Each system comes in 4 pieces, the mid section is connected using springs and clamps rather than conventional flanges. Joint springs are used to prevent cracks from vibrations, taking advantage of the flexibility of the spring. Whilst the springs do provide a secure connection, the clamp bands and slits on the pipe ends offer additional reassurance when installing.
Every flange is cut from 8mm thick titanium, making them highly resistant to cracking and warping. In addition, the opening diameter is kept the same as stock to ensure a secure seal.
The Type D and Type S systems use a silencer made with exhaust efficiency in mind. Each unit is embossed with the Tomei logo and polished and heat treated for their signature look. The fully titanium inner tube features perforations made to achieve an open area ratio of 32.6%. Using titanium provides durability, weight reduction and an iconic racing sound. Long glass wool fibres are used in all of Tomei’s silencers. Longer fibres are more resilient to wear especially against prolonged high temperature and pressure conditions.
